Hello! I am Shyamolina. I consider myself an interdisciplinary scientist trained in an internationally diverse education system. I completed my doctoral studies in theoretical chemistry (mainly application of nonlinear dynamics on reaction-diffusion models, pattern formation, etc.), and then during my postdoc, I transitioned to a quantitative field: statistical ecology, and macroecology. I strongly believe my diverse background (being a physical scientist with an immense interest in biological problems) has made me well-skilled to solve exciting research questions. My current research interests are in the fields (but not limited to): Community ecology, Quantitative/ statistical ecology, Macroecology, and Theoretical ecology, focusing on using causal AI/XAI to understand mechanisms and predict change in natural patterns across scales.
🌱 We are hiring! Motivated students and postdocs are welcome to join my group in quantitative ecology. PhD positions are available - direct entry with CSIR/UGC NET-JRF, INSPIRE Fellowship (DST), DBT-JRF (Life Sciences/Ecology). 👉 [See Opportunities]
